Lenses in Your Own Frame
At many traditional opticians, you’ll often experience resistance when asking to have new lenses fitted in your own frame. Not at Democratic Eyewear – and there are several good reasons why.
Firstly, your prescription often changes faster than your frame wears out or goes out of style. Secondly, it can save you money on the often expensive frames. And last but not least, it’s simply better for the environment to reuse a good frame.
Conditions
There are, however, a few conditions.
- Your frame must be assessed by our optician to ensure there are no minor defects that could shorten its lifespan.
- There’s always a small risk when fitting new lenses into an existing frame. We cannot guarantee that it will last as long as it already has.

Frame Renovation
When you’re already having new lenses fitted into your beloved frame, why not take advantage of Democratic Eyewear’s new service?
For just 500 DKK, you can have your favourite glasses fully renovated.
We polish the frame and replace parts where necessary – in short, we restore your beloved glasses.
Simply hand in your glasses to one of our five stores, and after a short while, you’ll receive them freshly renovated.
If you have any questions, our staff in-store will be happy to help.
Your frame will be assessed by our eyewear specialist before renovation begins.
If it turns out that renovation isn’t possible, or if more work is needed than expected, you’ll receive a call before we proceed.
Renovating and reusing is both an economic advantage – and, most importantly, good for the environment.
